I still buy laser discs and love 'em.

I don't know what's going on with your machine, but I do know that a very common problem that makes people think their disc player is ready to toss out is: A dirty lens!

Most laser disc players were built to play cds, so you can purchase one of those lens cleaners, the disc with the tiny tiny brushes on it, that you put in and play. This will often clean the lens of dust and debris that have accumulated. Give it a try!

One of the first new-release laser discs I bought was the Phantasm 2-disc set, and I had so much fun playing that, the movie looked and sounded so awesome. I used to love renting the discs, sad to see all these laser stores gone. DVDs are cool but somehow they don't have the same magic and mystique.
