Very well said! I can't agree with you more on the back room idea. Maybe that's why that haunt only ran one night? You'd think some sort of legal troubles would have appeared immediatly.
CrazyBob one can only hope the community didn't tolerate it. I sound so radical and I'm really not. Though I've never been victimized, I have zero tolerance on this issue after witnessing the damage it does to families so many times.

OEJ I knew you were and intelligent and sensitive guy!

I saw the suicide video a while ago. Very disturbing, but a neat effect. Not something I would ever put in a haunt though... but then again, the have HOURS worth of people in line every night, so they must know what they're doing!

After telling my husband about the article his reponse was, that if I came out of a haunted house hysterical and crying because some man pinned me down on a bed and threatened me sexually or any other way, that he would be in jail for beating the **** out the actor that did it.
Believe me when I tell you he would too. Since when did threatening a woman sexually become part of Halloween? I realize that people are getting more and more desensitized by gore and violence n the movies, but we as human beings need to demand more from each other when it comes to respect and what is right. There needs to be a line that never gets crossed and they certainly crossed it.

Also well said, Spookilicious. You know, as a Rob Zombie fan as well, I gotta tell you when he directed a rape scene in his Halloween remake movie I was very disappointed. Halloween does encompass horror and things that go bump in the night, but incorporating the violation of women is definitely taking things too far. It's all too 'real world' unfortunately..and when you visit a haunted attraction you're looking for entertainment, not something that matches the real world.

This is beyond tasteless and tacky. I'm almost unable to post a coherent thought because I'm so sickened. Why do people go to haunted houses? Presumably to get scared. And why get scared? Because it's supposed to be fun. Just what kind of a sick *insert four letter expletive of choice here* thought threatening people with sexual violence would be fun? First of all, any female stradling any man of man even without the threats would be crapping out her teeth because I'd ram them down her stupid throat. And any man, monster whatever threatens me, there's likely be body parts detached that I'm sure man/monster would rather keep. They are really playing with fire here and I'd bet before long someone working there does end up getting knocked senseless and it would serve them right. I sure hope they don't do this again. It's just disgusting.

I was at a Haunted House in Ohio and there was a no touch policy there and a friend and I went one night and some guy came down from the ceiling and grabbed me and started to pull me up. My friend grabbed my shoulders and pulled as hard as she could to get me out of his grip and then she shoved me out of the way. I went flying into the wall so I don't know what she did to him, but I could hear her cussing him out. But still that was nothing like what's going on now. oy.

Default Pain Doesn't Always Fade

I have had my haunted , haunted house open for tours for almost every night now for the last 20 years.(Long "season"!) I have successfully talked many scared children and adults into trying my house with the real promise that I will not do those certain things to them when they are in my house.
No chainsaws, no Hollywood movie monsters, nobody screaming in their face or grabbing them and no totally dark rooms.
Almost every scared adult became this way when they were children and somebody scared them too much. Sad for our society is that usually the young victim of this psychological abuse is female and sometimes doubly sad is the perpetraitor was a relative of theirs, Father, Step-Father, brother...or the chainsaw man.
Many of these timid customers go on to graduate to become regular customers here.
Of course these are customers those "other" haunts will never see again, ever.

GOOD FOR YOU!! And look how long you've been at it. I alwyas thought a fairy tale themed Haunted House would be cute and fun. The wolf from Red Riding Hood, the witch from the Wizard of Oz (duh, of course!), all sorts of fairy tale/Disney Villians could be put to good use.

And I tell you, I'm a jumpy mess now because of my older brother. I watched the Exorcist with him when I was 7 -9 after I'd begged all day and when I got really scared and tried to run out he wouldn't let me because I'd hounded him all day to watch it. I still remember my feet flailing in the air. So after that he'd hide in the shadows and do the exorcist voice and I'd freak. One night he stood outside my bedroom window. He did nothing, made no noise, just stood there and waited for me to notice him. When I finally did, I screamed so loud. He wasn't trying to be mean. He was just a bit of dunderhead but now I jump at every little thing.

Someone grabbing my wife and pinning her down would definitely be an ass-whipable offense. It's sad because they appear to be a very talented squad. If they put the same energy into a more family-friendly event, they would have something to be proud of.
