I really like the weathered effect. It adds so much character. Great job CMG

Thanks all for the replies. I got a better look at them today after they dried completely, and I really like them. I think I'll leave them alone...or build 2 more.

Tinafromidaho... here's how I built my frame for the columns...

connecting fence to column

It was a little tricky getting my joints to work out. I found a decent how to on Hauntproject. I used this basic frame to build mine. Pretty much the exact same way. I used 1 X 2's for my frame.

Pillars

I did not use their idea for my styrofoam though. I just glued styrofoam over the frame and cut a notch in the side to fit the end of my 1 X 2 into the foam. I forgot to add, I added a 2 X 4 crossboard that the fence sits on in the column, just to the weight doesn't sit on the foam, but rather the 2 X 4.

Rookiespooker...the freemason symbol I just got off the internet and transferred the pattern onto the top of the stone. Took a little bit of time to carve it out and try to keep it looking right. Got the idea from a tombstone I saw at the military cemetery around here. I think it gives a little character to it.

I need a new project now...hopefully the FCG
