I think it looks really cool! Don't be so hard on yourself. I giggled, i will admit, but I'm sure in the spooky atmosphere of a haunt it will look fabulous

I think they have character - much moreso than a store-bought mask! Good job!

Magickbean...I giggle everytime I look at them hehe but in the dark with a hooded cape they'll
be fearsome... at least to the lil kids lol

Frankie's Girl ...character is exactly what Im going for they are a bit uhhh quirky but hey
no one will say "I saw that at wal mart" lol

Now Im off to paint the first one Wish me luck

Newbie Haunter, I think you did good, especially for a first time, unique faces, which I like, better than mass produced!! When painted, they will look even better!!, I LIKE them!!

I don't recommend using 'Floam'... its dreadful to paint and the paint comes off extremely easy leaving behind bright white spots
Oh well I gave it a shot and it didnt cost me anything (stole it from the kids lol) but I certainly wont be purchasing any for halloween use.
I would like to try sculpting again though.. what kind do ya'll use over styrofoam heads? Clay, play dough??

I use Sculpey or Super Sculpey clay to sculpt ears, teeth, and wings for my dolls BUT it has to be baked at a low temp..not sure what that might do to styrofoam. maybe you could cover the s-foam with foil first?
