I need some advice from spookytown lovers like myself. As you know michaels is selling all these new houses and items and I don't know what to get. From a spookytown expert, If you have seen the knew houses, which HOUSE would you get from the 2008 collectiin if you could only choose one?

I would get one of the exclusives or limited editions. Maybe the Apathocary. My favorite this year is the Phantom Station, but it may be available next year.

I would get the one that I can't take my eyes off of. If that means more than one, I just stare at them both until I decide which one I can't live without.
Probably not much help, though, sorry. I love SpookyTown, too.
Is there one of the themes that you like or would you prefer something that is simply Halloween? If that's the case than I think Dreadful Manor is cool and it's a Michael's exclusive. I also like Full Moon Apothecary. Personally, I like the pirate pieces so I've bought the Pirate Hideout and will buy the Pub & Grub next week.

Shadowlord,
There is no way I could limit myself to one. That is why I have so many of them already! I ran out of space. That is why I don't buy any more of them. Sorry for not being able to help.
My suggestion is to think of a theme for your Spookytown and stay with it each year. That way next year it will be easier (ha). Perhaps this year buy one that will be the focal point and build outward as the years go by.
Good luck.

Ditto what Rikki said. All our Spooky Town pieces are more of the houses, businesses, etc. We've bought Dreadful Manor last week and will probably get the Apothecary with the 40% off coupon from the paper this week.

Look at what you have and think about what it needs - animation? Sound? A nice "filler" piece? While I liked the Morgue for all of the animation, we already have some major action going on with the Mauselium (sp?) and other pieces. So I went with the Phantom Station. Lots of nice detail and lights, but doesn't distract.
Its like painting or landscaping, your eyes need somewhere to rest.
I agree with the "theme" advice as well.
The only two that I really liked this year are the Phantom Station and the Full Moon Apothecary and I got both! I think they have more of the classic look of the older pieces and will go better with my display. If I were doing the western theme I would love to have the Morgue but I can't bring myself to mix themes so until I have more space, I'll stick with the classics.
So, which pieces do you already have?

Like I'm sure much wiser people have said before me, maybe there's one that just catches your eye and your heart. I have a few of the flashy animated pieces and lots of the filler and smaller pieces, but I gottta tell you, my absolute favorite is the Gothic Ruins. Something about it's authenticity and subtle creep-factor really touches my little orange and black heart.

Well I thought it over and based on what I already have, I chose the phantom station. I had a train setup that I used last year and will use it again this year. It fit perfectly. I was torn away from the Pub and Grub just because I didn't really have the pirate theme. I do have an ocean in my displays and needed a reasturaunt and a bar, but the station just was more eye catching. I used all of your advice, and a 40% off coupon , and am happy with my choice.
I've had a lot of money for the first time, and am stuck between spookytown and music. Need a new guitar! If I get any extra cash it's going to buy the pub and grub! See last years display and soon enough this years on my photo gallery on my profile. Thanks!
