TJ I posted this on several forum about the servo buy: and here is one reply:

And IMO if you ~really~ think you need that little bit of extra torque then spend 2 bucks more and get the HS-475HB. and NOW you have a servo.

I don't know the needs of that skull they where talking about but I'd bet 5 bucks (sight unseen) the 322HD would handle it AND last longer.

Just a few opinions from a guy who uses a lot of servos. YMMV.

*** do you know any thing about this deal he is talking about?****

Good morning Blinky, i hope today is a better day for you luv!

The HiTec 322HD is a lower torque version of the 422BB, and not Ball-bearing'ed, even tho it's HD(heavy-duty) it wouldnt stand up to to weight of a Bucky. Lindbergs may be light enuff, but since HalloweenBob, EvilBob and Gym_Ghost were recommending the 422BB, and G_G was even saying the 625MG(metal-geared) was better(tho abt $25/ea) the 422BB would play all day long. The 322HD could be used for the jaw, but I dont think wouldnt be tuff enuff for the 3-axis use.

The Futaba equiv is the S3004 and right now those are the ones everyone seems to have, for $12. I did get an answer on shipping from one seller that has 20 on hand:

"Shipping the 20 servos would be about $8 priority plus optional $4.60 insurance. I calculate shipping by weight. Just for future reference for a larger quantity shipped, there are priority flat rate boxes for $9.95 to anywhere and if it fits in the box it's $9.95 and there is a larger flat rate box that cost approx. $14 plus any optional insurance. That helps keep the cost down for "your people". Still checking with mine on availability of more. Thanks, CHS"

So shipping looks like abt $8 (or $14 for larger quantities) from this guy in CA. Servos, $12/ea and $8 to ship to me. Priority shipping to each of you shud be abt $8, bulk rate shipping would be abt $6.

Hi 'Princess, I've got your 4 listed in the count.

Servo CO-OP will be ending 9pm Monday the 31st.

well you will need servo controller cards
and there is a free software program that some use called Audacity and also Brookshire has a free version too.

Another update(3/27/08)... or just more of my drunken ramblings...

I heard back from 5 more online sellers.. and their prices in quantities for the Hitec 425BB's, are mired at $13.25 to $13.50. No one will budge lower, even with dangling a 50+ servo order over them. That is the best online prices I have got back, it's abt $3-$4 less than normal/full price.

Page Updated 3/30/08:

LHS: Hitec COOP = $12.00 (abt $3 less than online)

One thing is certain about this COOP, I'm going to need a lot more rum to get thru this...

OTHER HARDWARE REQUIRED (sorry, 'not shouting)...

Servo controller - Lynxmotion SSC-32, can run 32 servos, that's 8 full 3-axis skulls, abt $47 shipped.
http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.as...&CategoryID=52.

Software: VisualShowAutomation, (VSA), software program. $55, downloadable only.
http://brookshiresoftware.com/vsa_overview.htm. Use this to make the servos move, talk when you want. Has the ability to import a voice, or song file(.mp3, .wma or .wav) to create servo jaw movement.

Skeleton: Bucky... A Bucky skeleton is a life-like, full size skeleton. BEST, non-reseller, "always this price" price online is from OneGrimReaper on eBay, $79.95 and $30 to ship, so $110 to your door.
http://cgi.ebay.com/HALLOWEEN-LIFE-S...mZ370034555792. NONE better! Even thru ACC.

Skeleton: Blucky, blow-mold cheaper skeleton, abt $20 normally, can be found at $10 after-Halloween sales.

Lindberg skulls can be affixed to either skeleton(Bucky's are a little easier). Bucky skulls are heavy! 3lbs without any servos so they can only go on Bucky skellys.

Tomorrow I will make a "build" list, with every part you will need to build a 3-axis talking skull and post it in the PROPS sub-forum. A parts list's been sorta listed throughout the 3-Axis skull thread, but no one has put together a complete parts of -exactly- what you will need in one post.

Hope that helps everyone... I will also post, on YouTube the tut I've made so far with my skulls and pu the link, also in the PROP sub-.

And with that, I'm off to find some rum...
