yeah, I didnt at first but realized the skulls arrrre a lot easier to work on standing up, so there arrrre 9 holes evenly spaced, 4 in front, 5 in back..
I meant on the shipping if it's cheaper to ship Fedex to folks instead of flat rate USPS.
If you don't mind picking up the servos, you can bring them by when you come to get the scroll saw and circular saws.
Oh, i thot you meant you work for FedEx, they would still get flown to Membis then come back here as there is no Sort facility here. FedEx doesnt have a flat rate, it always goes by wieght, with fuel proices being what they arrrre. USPS has the best flat-rate price, and it stays here in the Valley.
Wife heard me talking abt the scroll saw and bought me one, yeah she's a real peach! Dang, just remembered abt tomorrow!! I have B17 Ground School all day tomorrow and we're doing Renassiance Festival Sunday, so will have to plan for when servos arrrre in..
Hi Di, you can run a longer cable between the laptop(say just inside the door of the house) and the display, I think you can run a serial cable abt 100' or so without any trouble.
I started thinking abt your payment.. I should refund your shipping amt and just meet up halfway to handoff the servos.. Whats prob easier, since you arrre a lot closer to Franks than I am, you can pick up your own servos and save the shipping cost.. lemme know what u wanna do..
The official spec for serial cables is 75', maybe you can get 100' with a high quality cable.
If you want long cables then its DMX you need, with up to 1000' cable lengths.
Before you go out and buy your SSC's take a close look at the SkullTroniX BoC, we used to run with the Parallax Board because it was cheap, but frankly we found it too damned expensive in the long run, servo burnouts were a constant issue as were port conflicts in VSA. consequently we went and developed our own servo controller which has eliminated servo burnout, Plus you get the RGB eyes that are unique to the SkullTroniX Skull.... and if that's not enough you can get direct support on this very forum.
There is so much to this build you'll really have to go back thru the original 3-axis thread: My 3 axis skull...in progress and go thru each post. I know it's a lot to take in but it's the only way to get a feel for the build.
As for the swivel, the first one is HalloweenBob's design, the second is mine.

Here is the most important question of all that I couldn't find on your website...
