Default Professional Makeup Artist Question

Hi all. Last year I spent a ton of time on my haunt (see it at hauntedlincoln.com) but my costume was really lame. I had a black robe and a latex skull mask. This year I'd like to be an authentic looking old pirate. I've found some sites that have pictures of costumes, so I think I'm okay on that end, but I'd like to use makeup (rather than a mask) to look like an old, scraggly pirate. I've done some googling but everything I find is basically cheap kids stuff. Any suggestions on where I can get some information on 1) how to apply stuff to look like a pirate and 2) where to buy it? Thanks in advance!

Heya check out the Slip Appliances on our site.
Nothing changes your appearance quicker than a full facial appliance, and you can paint them however you like. to fit your scheme. Just because it has the name Zombie doesnt mean it cant be a Rotted Zombie Pirate, or Ophelia, the witch couldnt be a Big Nosed Pirate captain, thats the Beauty in FX you make it what you want it to be......

On the Note of FX makeup be sure to check out our XTREME HAUNT FX DVD

Bodybags is correct and his products are amazing but might I also suggest cinema secerets woochie appliances, last year I seen a "damned pirate" in there collection(kind of like bootstrap bill from Pirates of the carribean) also there face paints are pretty good but I personally prefer Wolffe brothers paint because it is water based it goes on exceptionaly smooth and once it dries it is smudge proof( I work at a costume shop and have went 10 hrs in my face paint and it never cracks or smears) this is hands down the best affordable face paint out there.
