Good try ToeTag, LOL
A slip appliance is made of mask grade latex, The majority of all FX wounds you see in the costume stores are slip appliances.
Foam appliances are made by combining latex with a foaming agent, geling agent and whipping it into a foamy mess then baking it in a oven, it creates a much lighter, more professional piece.
All of our Pieces were designed to be FOAM latex pieces, but I quickly discovered that the MAJORITY of Halloweeners dont want to spend the extra cash on Foam, and are just as happy with a slip piece.
and In all honesty, for the autopsy piece, I recommend the slip grade piece, over the foam.
Now if you wanted a Facial appliance, then foam is the way to go, because foam offers you a full range of facial expression compared to a slip piece. BUT I always recommend if you are new to FX start with the slip pieces because of price. When I started out, I ruined quite a few 50 dollar appliances.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
