Default Boris Test with MP#

Just running a test of the Boris hack...so very easy to do...I might buy 2 or 3 more of these.

He may be my greeter....

Later,

Dennis

He is a talking Boris from Big Lots. He does different voices depending on the setting of vairous switches on the side of the head...using a microphone. I clipped the mic wires, as per the hack, and soldered a 1/8 plug on to plug into the MP3

The instructions say made in China Item no. 15225 distributed by 2007 Take One Phoenix

Later,

Dennis

The hack is just cutting the mic wire and soldering a 1/8 plug on. Then you just plug into the sound source and he talks away.

The eyes are 1/2 of ping pong balls trimmed to fit with irises from one of the links on line (glued on) with decoupage (sp).

Don't cut the speaker wire to isolate the it. I did and the jaw movement was reduced quite a bit. It's also hard to re-solder.

I picked up my Talking trough Boris today from Big Lots. The sound is really distorted even on the regular setting. I'm wondering if the speaker is blown or do they all sound pretty lame?
