thanks everyone...
The photos are under the subfolders ... its confusing... but after seeing how disorganized they are on my computer I decided to make them nice on there
As for storage.... well... um... lol it breaks into three parts... the roof, cab. and frame w/ seat... so IDK how thats supposed to help but it looks cool... and each piece weighs over 100lbs so it helps in that sense as well.. but it will probably go somewhere and we will just place all of our other props inside of it... you will ask this question even more when you see the pirate ship we have as well... which we may have to destroy or give away because of its fragility... being made of foam... and size... 3x7x8.... with a 10ft mast and a 7ft sail support lol... I will try to post picts soon... we just finally got it together with the mast up and steering wheel moving back and forth under own power... now we just have to mount the bucky and finish the 3-axis skull....
The cab dimesnions... of the wood b4 collumns and roof... is 82" by 42"... side windows are 14"x31" and 32"x31" with 6" between them... the rears are 15"x31".... the roof sticks roughly 11" out of each side... and the box was 32"x18" (the seat)... perfect to put a pc case in... but my plans changed... all the other dimensions I can give you if you really want them... or else I could give you the 1/8th scale schematics I recieved from evilbob to complete it if I get the ok from him....
Also... very observant about the lanterns... yes they do light up... but we had just placed the hearse out there that night and the next day and I had yet to wire them untill last nite... they use the same flicker bulbs that my porch does except standard base... the 3 or 5w ones you see at Lowes for an outrageous amout of monely lol (cuz I need 6 candelabra ones for my porch lights and at three dollars each that adds up!).... but I also added a green light to the casket and I will try to get out there tonight to post pictures of the additions as well as the boat....
And to all who want to build this... be forewarned... it was not a cheap endeavor... luckily I was able to get all the plywood as seconds from a local lumbar yard... getting them for $5 each... saving me a hundred or so... but the wheels on sale were $60 total.... molding... god knows how much... curtains... a tenth as much as the fringe cost... it really all adds up... each of those gazing ball stands cost $8 on sale and I used 9 (broke one... only 8 needed)... as well as the light fixtures (got them at cost for 15 each... normally 40)... and so forth.... so realistically... without fabric and windows... easily 500 for how I have it...but with the curtains and vynil for the windows (way cheaper than plexi at only $7 dollars a yard)... I have easily almost 700 in this prop... and Im trying not to think about that lol... but I have gotten the neighborhood together... everyone seems excited this year and I have the possibility of getting my haunt in the paper... as well as the fact that this will be used year after year... and could easily be sold for twice what I have into it (not counting the time)... for everyone thinks I bought it... and when I ask how much (even without the curtains and windows in) they believe for atleast 2k... it is worth it... plus it honed my skills... and was just a heck of alot of fun to build!!
Thank you everyone for your support!
Please feel free to ask any questions!
A special thanks to evilbob for giving the inspiration and plans to build my new toy!
