Talking Hello from Nebraska

Hi everyone. I have been setting up stuff for a while. I used to help my Dad, years and years ago. We had a great setup, with a fenced yard, people would have to come in the gate. With a great big tree next to the gate and just off the sidewalk, I would pretend to be a dummy propped there. Parents generally stopped right there and let the kids go up the sidewalk to the door. I have gotten either young mothers or older sisters to leave kids on the sidewalk and take off running. Ahh the memories... :

I have recently gotten back into setting up stuff in the last couple of years. I live near downtown Omaha and my front yard is barely big enough for a rose bush. So I have been setting up in my buddies yard out in Gretna. I mostly have a "grave yard" theme if you will. I currently have a life size coffin, 20' spider web some 4 inch thick tombstones, a nice faux iron fence, a bucky, a mummy, misc latex things, and I working on corpsing 2 bluckies for next year. I would insert pix, but since this is my first post I can't. Maybe I will reply to myself.

I do have a few questions is there any FOG guides or FAQs? I have a nice trashcan fog cooler, but I have not gotten it to work correctly.

Is there a better source of projects besides the Halloweenmonsterlist.info site? Well and here I imagine.

Also anyone one else from my neck of the woods lurking around in here?

Thanks for listening and hope to hear from you soon.

Hey, nice decs! Put up a fenced cemetery here in Lincoln this year--first time I've done that sort of thing for myself. Hardly any tot'ers but it was fun anyway. (Wednesday isn't the best day for it.)

Good to see somebody from the area decorating for Halloween. Wish there were more around here doing it.

Welcome. Nice setup. What is the problem with your trashcan chiller?

I think it is just my machines or what I am doing with them or ??
1st year, windy as all heck and did not use them (of course the wind died at sundown, but the stuff was not ready)
2nd year, could not get the buttons to stay down on the remotes and no one wanted to stand by the machines and hit the bottons.
This year, taped down the buttons, but the fog did not go into the T pipe well or came out the other side and went up in the air instead of out into the graveyard.

So, that is why I am looking for a guideline or a FAQ. I have seen references to a timer thing, I assume it plugs into the manual control port??? Also I am thinking about putting a little fan in the pipes, like a PC fan or something. Is that good or bad? Should it push or pull the air/fog?

Basically I am clueless about fog. Testing it in daylight and using the manual button it worked fine, but that success was short lived. Other then that the chiller does what is should do and with 24' of dryer vent and 20 lbs of ice, but my graveyard has stayed fogless.

thanks

Greetings Dragon, welcome. What fog machine are you using? What is the layout of your setup (position of fogger, chiller, and ducting). You trying to pipe it a long distance? Other then the auto timmer, you could be having a problem with how it is routed.

Most of the ducting is in the trashcan. I have a T of PVC that is maybe 8 inches long on each side. I am not trying to hide everything yet, as I first want to get them to work.

Now about these auto timers where can I get one, or is it a DIY sorta thing?

The machines I am not sure of, they are in my basement, I will try and look late tonight. Nothing fancy. I think I got one at like Spencer's for $40-50 and one at Noobies for the same price range.

I've seen the trashcan chillers work with a 700w fogger, I am not sure about the lower wattage ones. They might not put out enough volume to go through 24' of the vent ducting. The auto timmers have to be made to fit your fogger.
