Default making Liqueur's

My husband and I watched a tv show about a week ago on how to make your own liqueur's. But then of course we forgot what the show was called and I am trying to find the how to on the internet. No luck so far but I thought maybe someone here might have an idea of some of the drink shows names. It was a recipie for a brandy based liqueur.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks

I make my own Amaretto, French Vanilla and have tried others.

I got the recipes from a copycat book. I make them and give them away as gifts and always get asked to bring them to parties now.

Default French Vanilla

My French Vanilla Liqueur

1 1/4 c. very hot water
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. 80 proof vodka (Popov is my favorite for my liqueurs)
1 teaspoon vanilla butter nut flavoring
dissolve sugar in hot water, add vodka then flavoring and stir well
store in a sealed container
makes 2 2/3 cups

I use empty other liquor bottles or decorative bottles if giving away as gifts. One drop of blue food coloring makes it a beautiful green, have some right now in honor of St. Pat's day! It is a lovely yellow so I want to try making my next batch red.

Do you have the recipe for the Ameretto?

Does anyone have a recipe for an Irish Cream?

Yep, I'll dig it out and post it, probably will be tomorrow or Friday morning.
I will say, tho', that I wasn't too impressed with the Irish Cream recipe I have but know that there are others out there, just haven't tried them.

We have drank them right away, even still warm! Hey, you gotta check for taste right? LOL But like almost anything, it does settle in and mello after it sits a few days.

The French Vanilla is like Kashmir, if you've ever had that. I've had people tell me that my Amaretto is better than DiSaronna.

IshWitch, I'll have to try your recipe. I wanna get into infusing alcohols as well. I seem to recall seeing a Good Eats episode about the topic. I'll see if I can find a link to it to share with the class.

Try these guys, they sell kits to make beer, wine, soda and liqueurs and even vinegar.
