Default Hellbilly Invitation Help

My theme this year is hellbillies. Or maybe even a Hellbilly family reunion. I am trying very hard to keep it from just being hillbilly and making sure it has that hellish feel.

I have started thinking about invitations, my original thought had been maybe using flattened beer cans (Pabst of course). But now I'm thinking maybe there is something better. I will be sending anywhere from 50 - 75 invitations, so I need to make sure they are at least semi-cost effective.

I'm even having a hard time with the wording right now.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Pirate Chris

That's kind of a tough one. Maybe a flaming family tree invite? You could always get those abandoned property notices (like from the city or county) and make an invite out of it.

You said Hellbilly, and the first thing that popped to mind was the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. Maybe that is an angel you can work?

Although I actually really like the idea of a flattened beer can as the invite. Maybe you could pull out the blow torch and singe it... or put a 'bullet hole' through it.

I've gotten a lot of love for the beer cans. Guess I'll just have to figure out how to make it happen.

I too had thought of having a Hellbilly party and my ideas was to make the invite on little cards and tie them to the neck of a mini Jack Daniels bottle. I didn't have to send out as many as you though! You could make it look like the Jack Daniels label, put it in a mailing tube with "hay" natural colored rafia ribbon. You could burn cd's of Hellbilly music. Or that could be a nice favor. Look on Amazon and they have a list called "So you'd like to be a Hellbilly" it lists lots of good Hellbilly musci. I wanted to go the haunted hoe down route but it is just too cutesy, so I thought Hellbilly would be great. "Hellbilly Haunted Hootenany & Body-Q"!

A few ideas I had:

Printed beer koozies for favors, I have gotten them twice before from Kustom Koozies online, excellent and pretty cheap.

Decor: cannning jars for cups, scary scarecrows, hay bales for seating with blankets thrown on them, could use old sheets and splash them with red paint for blood. Human head on a plaque (like a deer hunting trophy!), old crappy furniture from 2nd hand store, clothes line with bloody sheets, overalls and body parts hung on it, moonshine barrel from hell (colored light and fog machine inside), zombies with overalls, you could even pose them like American Gothic! Ideas I read on another forum: skeleton on a target with hunting bows in him, best carved pumkin contest.

Food: Body-Q (ribs, burgers, whatever slathered in barbecue sauce), beer can chicken, corn bread, pot luck chili cook off contest, lynchberg lemonade, beer , cactus cooler soda, chocolate covered gummy gators or rats, some kind of punch and call it moonshine, meat head, beef jerky, etc. I ordered beer nuts and candy cigs off the internet for my trailer trash party and they were a big hit!

Prizes: for best costume, best pumpkin, best chili, etc. Beer, scary inbread movies (wrong turn, texas chainsaw masc., hill have eyes, hotel hell, deliverence, etc.), Rob Zombies Halloween Hootenany CD, cap guns, fake tatts, bubba teeth, etc. Put everything into a little metal bucket lined with a bandana.

OK, that's all I can think of now! Hope your party is a blast!!
