We did a spider theme a couple years ago. We used white trashbags filled with whatever we had around the house. Packing material like packing peanuts, bubble wrap, newspapers.. anything to give them a more rounded, bulky, bloated appearance.

Them we wrapped webbing all around those and kind of strung long webs to the others. Like the spider had gone from one victim to the next. We put quite a few small spiders over the cocoons to simulate lil baby spiders needing to feed. Hehe. Best part, it's all water proof. So no need to bring them in. You can also place a heavy rock or brick in "cocoon" to keep them from flying away.

We had a lil bouncy toy in one of them and the batteries seemed to last for a good long while. If you can manage to get something motion activated that will make just one of the cocoons jump a bit every once in awhile amongst the others, it would make for a fantastic scare!

I used cheese cloth and webbing, real cheap the only reason i didnt wrap the victim up the whole way is cuz I wanted to show that it was a tellatubby lol

Hee hee, just like others have said - I've made a static spider victim as well but there are better ones out there on the web (har har accidental pun).

I used chicken wire over a simple frame. Paper mache face and hand sticking out. And the inside of an old comforter to wrap around it (then painted with tinted latex paint). The comforter was great cuz it was a big sheet of cotton, easy to wrap, and made a fantastic textured surface once it was painted.

To me the best idea would be the following:

Take a corpsified bucky or blucky, lightly wrap with the cheapo "spider-web", then attach the bucky/blucky to the upper corner of a room. From that point just cover the corner/corpse with a web shooter, trying to get the surrounding 3'-4' area. It will look like a spider has just stored the victim in the corner and fed on him/her.

Web shooters can make THE BEST looking webs. If you can find the perfect balance of webs your web victim will look very realistic.

That's a great idea Killer (I love the image of it being hung in a corner). Question: If I'm doing this in my house (not a haunt with walls I don't care about), what would you suggest to rig him up there? An anchor in the ceiling?

Follow up question: I've eyed web shooters in the past, but have yet to use one. Again under the same conditions - using it inside your home - what's the damage/residual effect of freely using the web shooter indoors (and not just on a prop)?

we had a spider victim last yr... I used a blow mold blucky and a bag of the cheapo webbing. It looked pretty good. This yr I'm planning to have an entire room of spiders .. I just bought a web gun, havent had a chance to try it out yet tho.
